Cheating or not?

I had something weird happen last night. I was playing on VIII... a player named neur was on D... I was on ass. This guy was like noone I've ever seen... I threw smoke and pretty much sat on the smoker... he plucked me off. (Even though I was careful to wait until there was plenty of saturation) At another time I had the left window in full site in my scope. Neur moved from the right side, couldn't have seen me b/c he was turned to the side. He leans left and kills me the second he moved. No time to look for me, no time to aim... just waxed me. I called him a cheater (inappropriate maybe) and sent off an Email to admin.
To my surprise, his partner in crime started pulling the same moves. Am I paranoid (or prideful) and these snipers were really this good? I've never seen moves like that... Sorry if I'm just a newb and asking dumb questions... but if that wasn't cheating, these are the best snipers I've seen yet. Thanks for any input guys.... :roll:

Well, its tough to make a call on stuff like that, but shooting through smoke like that is always something to watch. If hes not cheating, chances are he is blind firing, and that is against our rules anyway. Also, if he is leaning in the windows, that is also against the rules, due to a graphical bug in the game. But, keep in mind, just because someone is turned sideways, doesnt mean they cant see you. Its called peripheral vision, and it has a greater distance than straight on. It can be very very deadly if used correctly. We do thank you for your vigilance, and will watch out for him. And i will agree, calling him a cheater was inappropriate under such circumstances, but, since you seem to have realized this, i think we can let it slide this time :wink: See you in my sights!

There's no way it was blind fire...1 shot 1 kill, right in the middle of the smoke. After I complained, everyone (including my teammate) told me to chill out.

Can you tell me more about this graphical bug? I read something about a headshot bug... Oh, and a sidenote: I ended up fighting these 2 monsters alone, and smoked em both 4 rounds in a row. :.50:

I'll PM you the info on the bug, as i dont want anyone reading it here, and going ahead and using it somewhere else. As for the smoke issue, best to just leave it until we get some hard evidence. I have been accused of it a couple of times, but i explain that i am still able to see through the edge of the smoke at times, depending on position etc.

Often when you are more than halfway through your smoke, it will serve as a backdrop to your character model, making you VERY visible. Could be that happened to you.

Depending on where you are the smoke reacts different aswell. I found if you smoke in the arch it lasts longer and does not move around as much (If that makes any sense). Maybe its wind i dunno, but it happens.

I agree with Innox - you can still see figures through the smoke or superficially in the smoke without making a true "blind shot," and I have done this and subsequently been accused of cheating. Not being there when this happened, it is hard to say.
