For Recon73 and anyone else interested in Target Practice

Step by step for setting up single player target practice sessions:

START AA
OPEN CONSOLE

TYPE "OPEN MAPNAME.AAO" Where MAPNAME is the map you want practice on.

TYPE "PLAYERLOCK 0" to move around the map

TYPE "summon agp_characters.npc_towerobserver" where ever you are a "dummy target" will appear in "Jesus Mode"

If your shot does not kill he will drop his arms.

You will have to set up the targets as many times as you need them but it will give you positional practice time.

Bind a key to the caracter and you can place them as quick and many as you want

yeah i actually have a keybind set called targetpractice.txt as follows


bind 3 playerlock 0
bind 4 mpcheat changeclass m4a1auto
bind 5 mpcheat changeclass s
bind 6 mpcheat changeclass s24
bind 7 mpcheat changeclass svd
bind 8 mpcheat changeclass mos
bind 9 mpcheat nvg
bind 0 summon agp_characters.npc_towerobserver

basically i start a map and then hit 3
then i run, or sometimes by map size it's quicker to use the fly command, to spots that typically you find a or d and hit 0
then i go back to spawn and move till i can get clear shots
now you guys know why you die from wierd angles some times

i'm trying to find out if any of the characters are prone or crouched for even better practice but it doesn't look like it.

So far I've found the following characters available:

summon agp_characters.npc_airborneinstructor
summon agp_characters.npc_towerobserver
summon agp_characters.npc_towerobserverfemale

And killpawns (kills summoned players/monsters)
is another useful command when repositioning dummy players.

I've read somewhere there's also:

agp_characters.npc_flightcrew
agp_characters.npc_airbornesoldier

Are any of those targets moving targets? i need to practice my moving skills :) or should i just get acedeal to run back and forth for me? :)

Just play against F^S if you want some moving target practice. :) :)
