A link with some information regarding proposed law restrictions on high-caliber weapons. More specifically, weapons such as the .50 caliber M82A1, M95, M99 and M99-1 sniper rifles. Of course, this would apply to other high-caliber rifles like the SVD, but this is Barrett's site, so I figured they should get the special mention.

Far as I know this will effect only "long-guns" of a caliber higher than .380, so the SVD would not be effected. Not that it matters but was it on your christmas list? :?:

Hand guns will be subject to similar restrictions (as if there were not enough already) but it will be .50 and up which is more or less black powder hanguns which usually fall under different licensing anyway and will be loopholed through.

Part of this stems from a recent agreement by Knight to produce a .675 for anti-vehicle manuvers in the middle east, the handgun issue stems from Smith snd Wessons new baby the Model 500 which is a 50 cal revolver based on an entirely new cartridge being produced by Cor-Bon.

Can you tell I am a 2nd Amendment freak yet?...
