I have been accused of using the Evil Hack while playing on our server. The truth of the matter is I have!!! I will never run from the truth, nor will I lie! I Will!! However counter fire with fire!! It's a sad day when everyone uses these hacks to get the edge, I used it to even the odds against those of you who are and will be using it again! It's with a sad heart that I pass the baton on and depart -=DoW=-!! I cannot have Tommy being put in a bad spot because of my actions. Therefore, I, Mad Angus, do hereby tender my resignation from -=DoW=- and relinquish all Admin rights and responsibilties! And if you are using the same hack, you should also resign!!! -=DoW=- isn't about cheating!! It's about teamwork and discipline!! Take a personal look at yourselves and your practices. If you find yourself to be defficient in any of -=DoW=-'s desired character traits, work on improving yourself! But do it elsewhere!

I think Hari has the right idea Angus. This also makes me think we need to take some time and do some training. We need to show other people in the clan what we know, things like using your peripheral vision, common enemy positions, etc. Dsotm has already got a start on that aspect, and if he would like some help in creating some new tutorials, i am volunteering. I know just about every common spot on bridge, so it can be easy sometimes for me to pick someone off. Just take a peek, if hes there, fire, if not, move on to the next spot, repeat. Its maps like bridge SE, Radio Tower, and Mountain pass, that the peripheral vision really comes in handy. While your running along the ledge, you can see if anyone is running up the other side, so you drop, take aim, and hope you hit, cause hes likely doing the same.

This suspected cheating thing is getting out of hand in my opinion. I probably shouldnt have made that post about Phatal Error, i should have just forwarded my concerns to the S-2, but that is over and done with. My :2cents: on the cheating issue, -=DoW=- and non -=DoW=- Alike:

a)No one will be banned for "suspected of cheating."
b)If someone is suspected, forward to S-2.
c)No one but S-2 can place anyone on the ban list for cheating, even if it is obvious. Go ahead and kick them, but let the S-2 have a peek, then they can Ban. If we can get the ban list integrated into Q Tracker, i think that would be an invalueable tool for policing the leased servers.

At the least, i am going to try to put together a text document of my tips and tricks.

It is a sad day when we lose one of our finest because the line between cheating and skill is so blurry.

I Hope i have not offended anyone with this, but this just what i think, and i thought it needed to be said. I really hope you do reconsider Angus, and instead of leaving, helping us weed out the crab grass from out otherwise beautiful backyard.

You have, by giving in your resignation, shown that you are aware of, and regret your mistake. You are trying to punish yourself by leaving -=DoW=-, but I think the best way we can "punish" you, will be to keep you and make you remember these words:

To see you go would be wrong. What you have done is not inexcusable but is obviously not something to be swept under the carpet. Should you be a -=DoW=- member? In my opinion I think the tag does need to be removed but perhaps not permanently.

We need to maintain a level of consistency and we would treat no other -=DoW=- member any differently. Perhaps time away from -=DoW=- and solid reflection will prevent future issues.

Bottom line: We love you like a brother and hate to see you go. Ultimately this is a decision for Ace and yourself to work out. I personally would like you to keep access but be removed from membership.

Please note I asked not that he reconsider. Nor did I ask for his absolution. I merely asked he be treated with respect. While he has cheated (and I honestly had figured he'd been caught in the act) he has unlike many who cheatd before him contributed greatly to this "family". He should be banned from the Clan and the servers, but I would personally (though I don't sign the checks around here) be open to reinstatement, to the servers only, at a later date.

Before this thread becomes too lengthy I would like everyone to consider the following:

When S2-Intel was set up, it was made very clear that anyone caught using cheats/hacks would be banned from clan and servers immediately and permanently. No exceptions would be allowed and this applied to the whole clan from Ace on down.

Angus knew what the penalty was and was prepared to accept the consequences. He pointed out that what he did went against all that we stand for, which it does.

By asking him to reconsider, you are putting both Angus and Ace in a very bad position. Ace cannot bend the rules for anyone (and would not anyway), and if he was seen doing so, would lose credibilty and respect both within and outside the clan. Our clan would be ridiculed and accused of having double standards and rightly so. We would become the clan people wanted to join so that they could cheat and get away with it.

All of this Angus understood when he resigned, and for that he has our respect.

As to his reasons for using the cheat, I cannot condone them, but I can understand his frustration. He suspects clan members of cheating - so do we. To this clans credit they are no more than 4-5 in number, but we know who they are. At this point they think they are fooling us by judicious use of the hack - but they are wrong.

All you cheaters out there should remember this: We are many and you are few. We can be watching you at any time , for hours if neccessary. You will have to think every time you turn on the hack, or scan people through smoke, or use the aimbot - 'is this the time I will get caught?'

Indirectly by your actions we have lost an otherwise great member of this clan, and for that we will redouble our efforts to nail you to a wall.

To further clarify: Admins (or anyone for that matter) are not allowed to ban or accuse someone publicly of using cheat/hacks. It has to be reported to S2 and we will follow it up. (Publicly accusing a real cheater warns him and tends to defeat the object).

Mad Angus knows what dow stands for;therefore he must face the consequences and leave dow immediately.He knows how we feel about cheaters,and cheaters will get caught eventually.I played against him for 2 weeks ago,and i was stunned that he was so good at sniping,and he wasnt that good last time,so i had a feeling that he cheated,but wouldnt accuse a dow,cause what if i was wrong.Im fond of dow and the batallion,and wouldnt jepardised that,i had been accused people of cheats before,and was right also.But when playing on officials,i keep low profile now,cause im a dow sniper batallion member,and is prowd to be one. :stick:

We were amazed and shocked to read your statement but we belive that resigning in this case is taking the easy way out. We belive that this matter should be brought to an understanding between you and Ace and he should decide your faith with -=DoW=-.

And to Ace we say, "Once bitten twice shy".

It's a very very sad day to DoW and yet we belive all of us will come out off it stronger and better. Dows who cheat and those who don't ALL have learned a lesson today.

First off, let me say that it’s a sad thing to see Angus go. With that said, I have some lashings to give out. When the S-2 was created, it was received with open arms because we were faced with an overwhelming number of people cheating on our servers. Have you all noticed how that has slowed to just a trickle now?? The word is out and they are afraid! The S-2 IS working and IS a good thing.

When I read the posts from some of the members begging for Angus to reconsider it really “chaps my ass” and shows how you would be willing to bend the rules for some and not for others. Does it suck? Yes, of course it does. Does it mean that we should overlook this incident just to keep a beloved member? I think not. Unfortunately Angus is the example of how serious this will be taken. I also think that the way Angus has handled himself through this trying time should be commended and he should not be made to suffer by having to read all of this reconsider stuff. The fact of the matter is that he cannot reconsider. He has chosen to take a very honorable approach to this as apposed to the alternate.

The bottom line is this, when the S-2 was created there was a charter drafted. It has very specific procedures in it that we follow. Angus has the option to reply to DoW after a three month period. Angus, we will miss your colorful humor and amusing commentary. I am glad to see that you are taking this like the man that you are. I urge you to take time and reflect and I hope to see you in three months.

But let me say,

I knew Mad Angus when i first started. it is sad to see him go, but go he must!
It takes a very brave man to admit what they have done, lets not forget most people dont admit it even when the evidence is damning!!

I love the way angus admins, speaks and just seems to command respect.
However cheating is cheating!!
I will always respect angus and i hope i have not upset him or anyone else for that matter, you all know him better than me i suppose!! All i want to say, is i hope to see angus in 3 months :D As mad as ever only a little wiser.

Angus, you were there when I started with this Btn, and I am sorry to see you go. I know from our private converstations that you are a man that must live and die by your honor and your pride and that is something that I respect immensely. That you cheated is not for me to judge as it is something you yourself have judged and found against your own morals. You showed me the love for this game and the level of that love required to become a good admin. In that respect you are probably the best -=DoW=- has ever had to offer. Keep in mind that you will be a brother always in this clan, whether you come back or not, but I do hope to see your ugly mug back in the ranks whenever I can return to full participation myself. First off let me say a few things.

1. It's just a game, yet to keep the game fun we do have our rules.
2. Everyone knows what those rules are.
3 Everyone Knows "The code of conduct".
4. We all know how to exit stage right, if you do not agree to the rules or the Code of Conduct"



Angus has been here since this clan started, and as such had input to some of the rules that we all try to follow.

While Angus did the honorable thing by stepping down from -=DoW=- without causing a big up-roar or scene, he stepped down only after I spoke with him this morning.

(Do not take this post in the wrong light)...he is still considered my friend, and we are still going fishing in June.

He was caught cheating. He did not do the honorable thing by not cheating.
He was Cheating.
Plain and simple!
He Got busted..


We have people here that spend hours of time honing their sniper skills by using test dummies, playing on official servers, sniping on -=DoW=- servers.

The do not "Resort to Cheating" to "Get Even"
We are not here to "Get Even"

He put me, -=DoW=-, and all the rest of us in a bad position.
Do I bend the rules now???
Do I become a hypocrite and not treat him the way we treat all the other cheaters..
What becomes of "My Honor", -=DoW=-'s Honor, this clan's honor, if we allow a select few to cheat and not face the repercussions of their actions.

He was busted for cheating, and as such will be treated like every other cheater that we have busted in the past.
