Hi all,

I'm here to share a sour taste in my mouth from one of the servers I visted today. I was on the dow sniper only server this afternoon and I had never been there before. I saw the info about checking this site for server rules but as many also do (im sure) I just joined and figured I could ask of any important rules so I wouldnt have to quit game.. start browser.. etc..

So I learned of the mpcheat to select class and I was having a great time. Until.. I aproached the arch (I was on Defense) and got some radio chatter about not going past the 3rd pilar. I immediately backed up and started to ask "Is that a server rule?" ....... No answer... Asked again... No answer.. Then I was killed and as I am sitting waiting next round. Some jerk starts to insult me.. calling me a fool and lots of other disrespectful words. So, I ask again "Is the pilar rule a server rule?" AGAIN NO ANSWER. I was very polite. I even said "If I was violating a server rule, I am sorry.. but I'm not a fool.. just uninformed"

At that point there was 1 DoW memboer on and I cannot remember his name :( But I got a message saying "respect other players" on the screen then.. I was kicked.

WTF?

I was more than respectful and I really thought the days of Admins that can't handle rcon were behind me with CS.

I came here to check the "rules" and I cannot even find them. The only link I found regarding these rules.. was a dead link to this forum.

I just thought you should know about this in case you were trying to run a respecable server/clan.

I give respect and I expect the same. If this was a misunderstanding then so be it, hopefully it wont happen again.

PS. I'm known on the official west servers.. and my reputation should be a good one. So you dont think Im a flammer or something.. I just like to play and use great teamwork.

I was admin on the server at that time, and I remember everything pretty clearly. I had just gotten on, and a bunch of people were flaming each other and all, and a couple were actually breaking rules. I don't specifically remember kicking you, and I doubt I did since I have seen you around, and you are a reputable player whom I've never had problems with. However, there was one at the arch that I remember. (I remember him being there, don't remember the SN.) I kicked him immediately. Stuff like rushing the arch and more than one smoke seem to be minor rules, but I kick the user immediately without warning anyway, to keep them from taking advantage of those who are there on the other team and are expecting all other users to follow the rules.

Like I said, I don't remember kicking you for anything, but I do remember that the game on that server did crash shortly thereafter. It's possible that you mistook that for being kicked, maybe? I dunno, since I've never been kicked off a server before, so I don't know if it gives you some sort of message or just says "Connection Failed" or what...

Another possibility is that I may have been attempting to kick someone else who was using crude language, or breaking rules, right when someone signed on/off, and you got kicked on accident. With the CommandPost GUI, it happens. Whenever someon comes on/off the server, the list gets rearranged, but the highlighted line stays in the same place, meaning that the user that was originally clicked on might not be the same one highlighted any more. So, if someone logs on/off between my clicking a screen name, and my clicking "KICK", it is quite possible that it might accidentally kick someone else.

It's happened plenty times in the past, a couple times it ended up kicking another admin!

In any case, your kick was more than likely unintentional if it happened at all. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, and hope that you continue to play on our servers.

No offence, and I truly mean it, but the rules are right where that let you off with the link to the forums, In case you have trouble finding them, here they are http://www.dow-sniper.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=104 I dont know why they told you the 3rd piller was not a rule it has been as long as I played on any of their servers. As for the rest I was eather not there or I was still alive and not able to witnesswhat happened or I would give info on what happened.

I dident have any problem finding the server rules personaly... :)

Ohh I remember that, you kicked that guy I cant remember his name but he was the one that had that vid card hack that could see through smoke... Ya, I dont think he kicked you, the server crashed right after he kicked that guy, It is possible he took that for getting kicked, I know After I was killed there was a breaf spout going on about something as well and I remember the admin telling everyone to respect every one on the server. I do think it was a misunderstanding, I was there now that I think about it, I dident catch the whole thing as I lived through almost the whole match, I think you wrote that guys username down you said, (The one you did kick) I was on DoW I almost the whole night, And ther were very little problems other then lagg... :)

I'm at work and only have a second but later I'll let you know about the link that didnt work.. But those that you've posted did work.

And yes, the server might have crashed and then with all the controversy, I might have assumed it was a kick..

Anyway, I can see that you are all good people and it was a misunderstanding at the very worst.

ok, here is what I did. Went to the main site url www.dow-sniper.net and from there I selected html viewing. Then at the top of the screen I selected "General" from the menu and from there I saw a link to "server rules" when clicked it gives a thread not found error. I just did it again to be sure and sure enough.. same error.

Just to clarify, i've been told a few times by different people that going past the 3rd pillar is not allowed.

I think this is a misconception that needs cleared up, since i'm not taking any guff if i'm actually playing by the rules when others think i'm not.

Defense is not allowed to rush. Stay back. Max is last column (pillar). That's why you are defense

yes thats true defence is sapoles 2 defend and thats it not rush auslalt thats pretty much suicide
