My friend's r son Nick sent us some pictures from the race start. That was this past Saturday, I believe. Not sure if these pictures are this year’s. The start they show here is in downtown Anchorage</ST1:p and Nick said they had to haul in the snow to have enough to run on. Of course the city streets are normally kept clean. The start is ceremonial, after this ‘show’ they truck the dogs and sleds to <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comhttp://www.dow-gamers.net/vb/ /><st1:City w:st=<ST1http://www.dow-gamers.net/vb/ /><st1:City w:st=Willow</ST1:pl </st1:City> for the real start. <st1:City w:st="on">Willow</st1:City> is probably 75-100 miles from <st1:City w:st="on">Anchorage</ST1:pl</st1:City>. I would have to look at a map.

i've been there for this, it's a huge event, the city pretty much shuts downs.

Look like there is a lack of snow in Alaska to!!! We haven't had a white winter in Denmark this year, or any other year!!
