Here ( http://aaotracker.4players.de ) u can find official anti-cheater solution until PB will be available.

I've never modified my system files, but I was curious and run cleaner.exe with this results:

many system files are rewritten
user.ini is intact
armyops.ini is rewritten, so all of ur details, resolution, cache, etc. settings are GONE! Ini files shouldn't be checked, so u can make a backup copy of ur ArmyOps.ini and after running cleaner.exe copy it back to System folder - according to forum entries I've read this shouldn't be considered as cheating.

I just wonder why Devs didn't make it running earlier, not a couple of days before PunkBuster ...

Just cause i know theres a few other lazy people out there like myself, i thought i'd just post the info here. Although i strongly recommend reading the whole thing.

Anonymous writes "Bacchus posts:

There are several constants in life: death, taxes, and cheaters. And while there isn't a 100% solution to prevent all cheating attempts, we can sure implement measures that will deter and detect them.

As most of you know, effective v1.9, we're excited to join forces with Punkbuster to help with the deterrence. But in the meantime, we are relying on several alternative means for detection. While we'd like to hope that folks won't cheat, since it inevitably effects everyone in the community, 'hope' doesn't seem to be a good deterrent.

Thus, the following will be in effect, beginning 0001 PST, Friday/18 July: if any player has altered their system files, either intentionally or non-intentionally -- or believes that perhaps they may be altered -- run cleaner.exe (located in your system folder). Effective this Friday, all players who are found to have altered system files will have their accounts banned until v1.9.

In the meantime, our Official servers will continue to be administered by our ever-diligent AGA admins, conveniently reached from our support page.

Thanks for your time, spread the word, and happy gamin'!

User.ini and armyops.ini are ok to edit. THe cleaner.exe will reset the armyops.ini file (which holds video and audio settings, etc. ) but the user.ini remains untouched. Tweaking your armyops.ini file should not get you banned, as thats what ini files are for, for editing settings.
