Y'allz know how SETI@home uses up whatever excess clock cycles your CPU has while it's running? (For those who don't know what I'm talking about, just nod and pretend you do.) Well, random thoughts are kinda like SETI@home for my brain. And, all of a sudden, while I was at work today, I came up with a little signature game idea.

At the bottom of my signature, I will attach a quote. It may be from a movie, book, speech, song, or anything really. Below the quote, I will have a link to this thread. In this thread, y'allz are gonna try to guess what the quote is from, and who said it. (If y'allz wanna put quotes in your sigs too, it'll just make the game more fun. Just please try and keep them relatively small. Signatures that are very long, vertically, can quickly become an annoyance.) When someone guesses the quote and originator correctly, I will post an affirmative response in here, and change the quote. Once in awhile, I might just throw in a self-quote (Identified as such, so as not to throw y'allz for too much of a loop. ;) ) or a quote from an online buddy, if I can't think of anything else at the moment. I'll change it to a "real" quote when I do have something, and the game will continue again.

Here's what I'm looking for in all y'allz's quote guesses:

FOR ALL QUOTES:
The screen name of the person whose quote you are guessing. (Assuming I'm not the only one that's going to do this.)
A copy of the original quote.

MUSIC:
Song Title
Artist (If applicable.)
*Movie the song is from. (Put this in place of Artist, if the song is just from a movie. You'll see an example in a quote later on.)
*More of the verse/song that the quote is taken from. (Preferrably not the whole thing, it'll bloat the thread. But if you really wanna, go ahead.)

MOVIE:
Movie
The character(s) involved in the dialogue.
*A brief description of the situation in the dialogue.
*An extension of the dialogue/scene. (But please, for the forum's sake, not the whole movie. ;) )


LITERATURE:

Now, some may ask: Why put this in your signature, instead of just doing it all in the thread? Easy. It saves all who wish to play a daily trip to this thread. (Unless the only threads they read during that day are ones I haven't posted in.) All they have to do is go and read a thread I've posted in before, take a look at my signature, and (if they have a guess) follow the link that I post in my signature to come here and post their guess. If they don't have a guess, and aren't interested in seeing anything else that might be in here, they don't have to come in here. I know, it makes sense but it doesn't. That's just me. Besides, I think semi-random quotes are kinda cool to see in signatures.

Well, good luck everyone! My quote will be in my signature in about five-ten minutes.

P.S.: Just had an idea. You may also use quotes from this forum, provided that they are posted in one of the public forums, not a Members-Only forum. I've put the requirements for a quote guess up in the list now.

Okay, looks like Ace has a maximum limit for signature size. Dunno if it works by actual height or just the characters in the signature edit box, but just thought I'd warn y'allz. I had to take out my signature image to be able to put the quote in, but I may find a way around it in the future. C'mon, Ace!
