We should Right Americas Army to get pistols like snipers do

lol, how do u expect to do that? the game has no such wepons, and your shouldn't be chargin to were u need a sidearm anyway, u should be sniping.

i say that becuz snipers in the Field always have sidearms for close-quarters battles that sniper rifles would take forever.[img]

I think what Johnny means is not for us to have handguns to rush with, (although many out there probably would use them for that exact purpose) but to defend ourselves from rushers. If someone comes up to us for close combat we're essentially screwed, since the sniper rifles have no sights outside of the scope. Only in 1.4.0, have we just now gotten the ability to move while having our scopes up, but this still leaves us with two major weaknesses in doing that: 1.) The magnification the scope provides severely limits our peripheral vision. VERY NOT GOOD for close-quarters combat.; and 2.) The only way we can move with our scopes up is essentially to walk with "baby steps", making us a very easy (albeit not so easy as if we were sitting still) target for any support that our opponent might have coming up to flank us.

I believe we should have sidearms. Preferrably a revolver, with no reserve ammunition. That would discourage those who wish to use it as a rushing weapon.

Handguns would be good idea for snipers. They would make it that much harder for both sides to rush forward.

Yeah, but at the same time, have you noticed how it takes FOREVER to change from one weapon to another? It's quicker to do a CHANGECLASS, almost!

I's comming already, they are planing hand guns and also explosives to breach doors... :) those are 2 thing I know they are working on...

I talked to one of the DEVS in IRC and he laughed and said it would be 'a cold day in hell' before they made handguns. He said the Army had watched CS before making this game and decided against it.

Think we oughta make a beta forum of our own in here, the way things are going in this thread? Make a section to discuss what we, as snipers would be interested in seeing in future releases and stuff?

Or should I just start going to the (damn massive) AA forums?

Been there, they are too massive too be useful. Start our own beta forum. Maybe we can convince Mavric to pass along our opinions.

I have a segestions board on the Oc Forums, any thing that is posted in there that has not been segested gets relayed to the beta offical segestions boards, you can also report bugs there and I'll report them as well, I rather not check more then one board a month, to relay info... :) I start a new post every month, just add to those if you want something to be added...
