Map Fog

It seems that I have a glitch in my system that gets rid of the fog on all the maps. what I would like to know is if any one else has been able to get rid of the fog all together or is it just my machine? Allessir is a friend of mine and he lives next door to me and he can't get the fog to go away. we thought it was my vid card but he went and bought the same one and he still as the fog? Any replies are helpful.

There is an option on your video card setup. Example;
Fog Tables
Anti-Alais
etc
etc

You must have the fog tables turned off.
With the fog turned off your frame rates must suck :))

Actually I don't notice any differance between my system and my friends. And I'm just running with the default settings on my vid card.

you would see the diff if you turn them off in a single player game. First open console type stat fps (hit Enter) then type the show fog command and watch the diffrence in the PFS... It is a big diffrence.... :) you can go from 60-80 down to 20-30.

I've been told that ATI cards don't display the fog for some reason. I've got an ATI card, and haven't really tweaked anything, and that is actually the case. Maybe it's just me, or whatever. I'd actually be interested in finding if there's a way for me to be able to see the fog. The game just doesn't quite feel right without it.

You can't see any fog at all? I though ATI cards just had less fog. hehe

It's not that I can see the whole map. I just don't see fog as fog. I can see clear as day, up till the point where those who would be seeing normal fog wouldn't be able to see anything at all. At that point, it's all grey.

It must not be all the ATI cards because Allessir and I both have ATI cards and he has the fog still. The only differance between our cards is that mine is a 64 meg DDR and his 128 megs DDR

Mine's the 64MB DDR w/ VI-VO model. Maybe it's older?

I have the ATI radian 7200. And like some of you I don't have fog but my view cuts off at a certain piont. I have no option to change this. My problem is Lonely banned me from DoW servers and says I'm a cheater. Anyone who knows me knows I don't cheat. If I'm not aloud on DoW servers because of my vid card why are the rest of the poeple aloud. And does that mean any DoW members that don't see fog banned from thier servers as well, if not then whats the point of banning some and not all. All I want is to be able to snipe on the bridge. If I go buy a defferent card will I be aloud to play on DoW servers again? Please let me know ASAP because I wont be playing until I can get back on the bridge. I've got a Radeon 9000 pro vid card. It's 128mg DDR with Tv and dual monitor support. I've looked thru the normal stuff the factory disk will install and theres nothing there and I can see that will let me set them for no fog. I've gotten around this by just getting better at hiding and when I do go against those that I know have no fog. I just get my position so that they have to be within sight range. There fore eliminating the fog advantage. Superior Tactics can overcome most advantages.

Well, I just got a 7500 to replace my other card, since the GPU fan sounded like it was about to die on me, but I've still got that damn fog problem. WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE FIX THAT THING?!?!

You can fix it by yourself
Just buy a nVidia VGA Card. Easy and simple.

You can pick up a G-Force 4 MX420 AGP for about $89.00 at a Fry's Electronics now. PCI cards are even cheaper

yep, i would take a GForce over an ATI anyday, i need a new vid card thought,i just get a 64 MB SDRAM Gforce 2 now :(

hehe hell my back up vid cards are a 32mg Asus, and a 63mg DDR G-force3 (both are Invidia chipsets) I'll still just keep putting people in my sights and with a gentle squeeze. Send them to whatever they worship for a face to face.

I picked up a Geforce4 MX440 64MB DDR, from Software Etc to hold me over till I pick up a Ti, it was only $100 and it really isn't bad. I haven't noticed any lagging and I'm just using an Athlon 700MHz cpu.

I don't do PCI... only AGP. And who the hell is Fry's Electronics? Anyway, I was kinda in a crunch, so I just ran to the nearest Best Buy and picked up the cheapest thing they had that was still "up to snuff".

hey guys im finally back on iv been woking so much didnt have time to get on to play an when idid have a fiew minuts i couldnt on a any DoW servers last night i tried for 45 minuts so i gave up an went to bed..

but any way theres nothing wrong with Ati cards video. An u dont need to go buy a Nvidia card.. i have a Radeon 8500 64 ddr... i have fog more than i want haha an they have several types of fog. to turn off an on.. u just need to download a tweeker like the radeonator. theres so much stuff shown u can turn off an on to make better game play . fast or for optimal performance settings .. well gota go talk yas later
