I have a few first experiences with 1.9 playing on official servers. And I have a few questions of course :D I'd like to hear ur opinions ...

+ PunkBuster - even if i don't know HOW exactly and HOW OFTEN it checks punks I am EXCITED we have good anti-cheat software at last. I didn't notice any "impossible" shots or tracking enemies so far ...

+ Friendly weapon bug fixed - it's great now, that u can pickup friendly weapon (especially for snipers). No weapon is wasted now when owner die. I have to use to fact that I'll have to snipe more than dedicated snipers if some1 pick up their rifle :lol:

+ Enhanced graphics: I like shades (try it in RT :wink: ), bullet holes in ground, nade blasts and all "shooting and exploding graphics". I like improved soldier movement too - more realistic now. What I am confused now is that Friends look like they r going to loose trousers, but I think I'll use to it :P

? Enemies: I saw just Bridge, Mountain Pass and Radio tower enemies and I like Taliban style, but Bridge and Mountain Pass enemies, who do not wear dark green coat, look little bit like mates - even in sniper scope I had to look twice if it's OpFor!!! They have also helmets and bags now, so u can easily get shot by "identified friend"

- User interface: I really dont like new menu - no Resume game, If u want to disconnect, u have to go to Deployment, no icon of PunkBuster servers like in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. Pictures are great but menu is strange.

+/- In game roles and weapons selection: I like the team selection (u know now in which team exactly u r, or if u r just waiting), but I REALLY hate that "selection for the whole match"!!! At the beginning of every match all connected ppl select their roles and weapons (who clicks first get it) and if any1 stupid or honor 10 selects sniper or 203, no1 has any chance for the rest of the match. I didn't find any advantage of honor, but maybe it's there. Does any1 know HOW EXACTLY that process of "Reserving - Selecting" at the beginning of every match works?

+ Medic: I think the idea is great, and it works fine, but sometimes the fights are too fast and too furious that no medic has a chance to heal any1. I got light shot , was still green, but dropped blood and it takes me very little on CEM meter and bleeding stopped after a minute! But when u got yellow or red from sniper and no medic around, u r very quickly dark red and CEM is VERY low! I think that there will be no big fights for medic class like for sniper or 203 after this first wave of playing ...

+ I think that SAW has smaller recoil and from crouch it's much more precise tahn b4! Is it just my opinion (I didn't use SAW a lot), or any1 has the same opinion? I had 25 kills in 7 rounds with SAW on Bridge_SE, which I had only with sniper rifle before ... (Sorry Snipe_U_2 for that nade, man 8) )

+ I didn't test it so thoroughly, but I think "leaning bug" is gone! I saw ppl leaning in windows in different distances from window and they were visible - just a head or side of the head only, but they were visible (and snipable of course :lol: ) - Am I right or not?

+ Mountain Pass SE: I played it just an hour, but I think it's cool now. Assault has now light advantage I think, but it'll be nice sniper map - with proper boundaries of course :twisted:

+ Second (green) meter down right: It's stamina for sprinting, jumping or something like that? And the old (red) meter has cap now which shows how high it can rise in ur current health, type of movement and weapon - got red with SAW and in walk it was REALLY low and it shake a lot ...


Any other things u noticed?

nope, that sum's it up perfect....especially the part about the LOW CEM when bleeding, i couldn't aim worth a toot last night

The thing I like most about 1.9 is all the new admin features, although it looks like we can't use punkbuster to request screenshots as someone said.

Just a bit of added realism, bud... that's what this game's about, isn't it?

I had the same problem, but recently it came better. But if u want u can tweak ArmyOps.ini file and add there a section:

[IpDrv.AuthServerLink]
AuthTimeout=30.000000

where numver is 10.0000 as default and u can raise it. But if auth server is down, it won't help u, u'll only wait for "Timed Out" messsage longer :D

Today I noticed that u can't climb up any tree in Bridge_SE map anymore!!! All branched trees changed to different tree! - So that's the end of tree monkeys :lol:

What the ASE says Regarding the new AA, server querying is pretty badly broken in this release. We are waiting for the official servers to be updated before touching this one.

Also, to get the SCI army server, you have to go to your filter and do the "min honor" as 9 and max as "100", sux don't it? i liked the old browser better...

In fact, Honor *does* affect weapon class selection. At the end of each match, all classes get reset, and timers are initiated for each player, so that some players get to choose before others.
The order that players get to choose in is *partially* based on Honor, and *partially* based on your current score.

If you have 60 Honor, a player with 10 Honor will have to score more than twice as many points as you in order to select before you do.

So it is entirely accurate to say that high-Honor players can no longer steal weapons from low-Honor players. This is entirely intentionally. You will now always know exactly what weapon you will get, and what fireteam you will be in.

There are some obvious features that could be added to the class selection menu, such as a "Request Swap" button or something, so that you could ask another player to swap slots with you. Such features were not added because of time contstraints, but I am planning on adding them in the future, and I am open to any feedback the community might have.

Thanx for the info - now the whole process "Request-Select" is cleaner to me. Although I am the high honor guy who stole sniper guns to low honor guys without reason :wink: , I like this new system more - everyone has a chance and if he's good he can have almost any gun he wants.
The second benefit from this is (for me) that I'll have more time to learn playing with other guns than sniper guns :D
