Hey,

I was just on the Bridge (I think DowIV) and everyone said that DoW updated the rules yesteray to allow Assualt to use nades and Def to use smoke & nades. I was surprised to find myself the last person left on assualt within the first 30secs, because both games the entire assualt force smoke the arch and then and ran straight under it to throw nades and then got sniped. Is this true? If so, those last 2 games where the worse I have ever seen or played on.

just checking,

thanks

Take a look at the posts in the forum above this one. It's been updated. Now ALL players are allowed ONE smoke each, and no other grenades. That means no flashbangs or frags, and only ONE smoke grenade, regardless of what map or team you're on. Although this is not my personal preference, I do maintain my duties as a server administrator in enforcing the new rules. If you do not agree with these changes, I have made a thread where you may voice your opinion (although it may be to little avail) in the "Server Discussions" forum, entitled "[Poll] - Revised: FLASHBANGS"

Happy Sniping!

Thanks, I checked the date on that forum before posting my question and that forum was still dated like Nov 7 or something. I didn't think about looking in the forum to check the messages anyways.

I like these rules. I just don't like frags. I think they take the fun away from sniping when you have people running and lobbing frags at you.

I have already voted in your poll. I don't think Flashbangs are anywhere near as bad as fragging on sniper maps. My main beef was just the smoke, rush, then frag assualts on the bridge.

thanks,

shur

P.S. Is that sig from LOTR? I remember Gandalf saying that to Frodo.

I am adding some coding to the pages now, that when I edit a post (Sticky or Announcement) it will change the date, so that it will now so up in the {View New Messages} icon.

I never realized that it did not do that.
Once installed, I will test for awhile before giving that tool to everyone.

Thanks

Coding done. Can change the dates of posts now.
If you would like any of your posts re-dated let me know. This is an admin function only for the time being.

You can't just have it stick something at the end of the message that says. "Last edited by: (name) (date) (time)" Like most other forums do? That way it won't change the actual date, but will show when a post was edited last. Then again, that might also cause it not to show up on the list as updated. I dunno.

It will do that already, but if you are like me, I just look at the view new posts since last vist. And if it's not updating the post date / time then if it's just and edited post, then it does not display as a new message.

Currently working on some stuff to see if I can fix that. So that when a post get's edited, it will show as new or xxx edited so and so post.. etc...
