Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me. I got my girlfriend a copy of AA, but when I installed it and went to play I got a critical error about a missing package for the windrv. I have no clue how to fix it. Her computer has a pentiumIII 1gig processor, and an Invidia Geforce2 64MB graphics card. If you need more info let me know. Thank you!

If that all fales goto the americas army web site www.americasarmy.com click on support, at the bottom there is a link for a live chat with one of their support staff, there is usualy a line, but they can figure out any thing... :) be shure to have the error message ready for them... :)

It does sound like a direct X problem, you need 8.1 or better.

Check the version
Start menu
Run
dxdiag
:) there is a lot of useful info there.

Another thing you might try before waiting in line for IRC tech Go to your 'Army Operations\SystemInfoAAO' folder and run the program called 'SystemInfoWindow.exe'. That might pin down the problem. Also every time I've had an error like that I just reinstall it over and over until it works. If you do have to go into the IRC be sure the copy the error message into a text file so you can spit it out right when they ask.

BTW that SystemInfoWindow program ain't the best thing. I think they probably spent about 10 minutes scripting it. It tells me I have an out dated version of Direct X, Last time I checked 9 comes after 8 on the number line

well we got it fixed. Had to update directx, and display drivers. then had to update AA itself, from 1.2.0. Thanx for all your help!
