How many -=DoW=- members would be interested in forming a fantasy football league. I know week one is already over but we could still get a great league going. If I can get 5 or 6 people interested then I will create a league on Yahoo. I want to get the league and draft done as soon as possible so we can start the scoring for week 2.

Is there somewhere we noobs can read the rules, the How-To's etc etc on this FF stuff?
I have a friend at work that carries a black binder around with him all the time with all these different leagues, draft picks, team scores, etc etc. he spends more time looking at the book then doing network design.

You can use the standard points but I would suggest cutting the yardage in half (1 pt for 10 yard rushing or recieving, 25 passing or returning).

The league is created. All settings are at the default settings until we decide what we like best. To join the league do the following:

Go to- http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/f1/reg?page=joinprivate

Enter league #= 541079

Enter password= football

Create your team. For team names, I used my DoW tag i.e. -=DoW=- Tatmtt2120
Names ares limited to 20 characters, so do the best you can.


If this doesn't work then do the following:

Click on sign me up. If you do not have a Yahoo ID already created you will have to create one. After you sign in or creat a Yahoo ID:

Click on Join Existing league.

Click on Join a Custom League.

Let me know if you have any problems.

The only things I ask is that the number of teams is an even number (that way there is no byes) and you give us a little warning before starting the draft.

No problem. I can set max number of teams up to 20, but if we have an odd number of teams signup then we have no choice but to have bye weeks.

This is what I have so far. Let me know if you want something changed. I would like to set the draft to ready by Friday, that way Yahoo has enough time to run it before next Sunday's games. When you sign up please edit your draft picks as soon as possible so we can get the draft done quickly.

Basically we all create teams and will select different players for each position. Each week you get points for how well your players performed based on the point scale listed above. There is not a lot involved. You can edit who you want to try to get on your team or you can use Yahoo's list, but you aren't guaranteed any player just because he is on your list. They must be available when its your turn to pick. A draft will take place to determine who is on which team. The draft is done exactly like it is done in real life with Basketball, football and baseball but its automated and done for us. We just select who we'd like to get.

Just try it again and make sure you have now extra spaces in the team number or password. I got that error the first time I tried to join but it went through the second time I tried.

Edit your pre draft selection with the guy you want on your team at the top. Remember to pick about 8-10 players for each position. The ranking system that yahoo uses is really messed up. The best way to find your player is to do either a player search with their last names or put the ranking list on alphabetical order by position.

LAST CALL FOR FANTASY FOOTBALL. I am going to set the draft to ready tomorrow, Sept 11. @ 1600 cst (2200 gmt). Once I set the draft to ready, no one else will allowed to join. If you want to get in this league you need to sign up and join now. The reason I am setting the draft to ready tomorrow is because Yahoo says it could take 3 days for the draft to complete once I set it to ready. I want the draft to be completed before Sundays games.
