A witness is called to the stand to testify against a man in court. He looks up at the defendant, then looks to the judge and says: "Your Honor, I cannot testify against this man."
When the judge inquires why, the witness responds: "Brothers and sisters I have none, but this person's father is my father's son."
What is the relation between the Witness and the Defendant?

Are the sexes of these characters correct? Or is this some trans-gender joke?
