A man wishes to sell a puppy for $11. A customer wants to buy it but only has foreign currency. The exchange rate for the foreign currency is 11 round coins = $15, 11 square coins = $16, 11 triangular coins = $17.
How many of each coinage should the customer pay?

8.06 of the round coins
7.5626 of the square coins
7.117647 of the triangular coins

7 round coins and 1 square coin

7 x (15/11) (round coins are worth 15 elevenths) = 105/11
1 x (16/11) (square coins are worht 16 elevenths) = 16/11

add the two top heavy fractions together and simplify it

105+16 = 121

121/11 = 11
