View Full Version : I'm getting really sick of this problem:

I have some sort of weird lag thing going on that I haven't experienced in previous versions. When I'm moving via any of the movment keys, I veryoften experience this lag, and continue to walk for 5-10 seconds beyond when I let go.

-It only happens with my keyboard. If I make my forward movement key a right mouse button, this doesn't happen
-I've tested my keyboard, it's fine, and works fine in other games
-It's not actual network lag: It happens in single player too... more on the hosp. than anything else
-Bridge is usually fine in multiplayer, but hosp. and mountain pass are UNPLAYABLE at all.

I'm almost to the point of sitting out until there's a new version... I love the game very much, but it seems like noone has the answer... I've posted several times on the AA forum, but I'm not really getting anywhere.

Does anyone have any ideas? Sorry for the long post... I just wanna play! :banger:

Sounds like something to do with the typanic rate setup. May want to check into that via your bios.

I also have lag most of the time. I still haven't figured out what to do either.

Snipe...I love you man

Played with keyboard settings in control panel. I slowed down the repeat rate, and I'm in like flynn. Thanks!

Had the same problem.

Thats because I use the same keys for every game.

Sticky keys,

Stop spilling bear over your keyboard.
Clean it , or just buy a new one.

This helps me as well although I'm still having big time lag on any SF missions.

If you're still having lag you might see if your video card is being pushed too hard. I didn't have problems with the keys but my card just couldn't handle the new maps. I moved from a Geforce 4 MX 420 to Radeon 9600 SE and I don't have a problem anymore. It seems the 2.0 version made a huge jump in the graphics requirement as well as the maps. I never had any problems with the 1.9 maps but even the single player training in 2.0 was killing me.

Ive got a Geforce4 Ti4200, athlon XP 2600+, 512MB ram, 8mb cahce hard drive, and i still chop on the SF maps. Tried a Radeon 9600 Pro and it still lagged. Any other tweaks i should be worried about? Tried a few different configs to no avail.

Great Time of day fellows, I would trade for any of the computers above as Im way behind, I have a 1ghz pent III with 512 mb of ram, geforce 4 420 with a huge 64m (lol), and all this stuffed in 20 gb hd. Now I have small lag in SF but with what I have I cant really complain. Hey think back to the DX486 with on board 2m video and that will make you hug your computer lol

A major problem I am having is when on Dow VI every so often my ping will go up to around 4500 from 250 and then I get thrown around all over the place, the other problem is the bug where I can't reload or run and when you sight it looks like you have a serious case of the DT's.
Jumping and pressing backspace sometimes works but sometimes even backspace does not respond.
Any Ideas Chaps :.50:

second problem , just make sure you are not facing any walls or pillars or anything, and recheat the weapon. Sometimes when you cheat it while running, or with it angled down not aiming at anything, it messes up, and you can't do a darn thing. Give that a try next time. First problem may be due to some weird internet activity, or the lack thereof, in NY recently. Could also be something like your virus scanner updating itself in the background automatically or something, if you are on dialup, its a real pain in the hole.

I found out why I was lagging out (timing out) of games. They were doing road work not too far away from my place, and they hit a fiber optic line. It was hit last week, but they repaired it yesterday (without telling anyone).

it is just a mis-match on the DDR that you put in, I have that happen all the time with the 2100 and 2700.

I'll just throw my computer in the trash! I have lag on the first round every time I play and I can't play the SF maps at all. It freaks out when I run AA and TS together............... :x Guess I'll have to pick up cans and sell them to buy more RAM. I don't have any lag problems after the first round on the bridge though.

nope it's not mismatched mem. they are both pc2100 ddr@256 megs. I'm wondering if i allocated to much virtuial mem.

Its possible the new ram has a bad chip on it.

great free memory tester:

www.memtest86.com

I use the bootable ISO image at work for testing RAM.
