Got nostalgic again, and pulled out a copy of Duke Nukem 3D.
Problem is, I can't seem to get the sound working straight under Windows XP Pro, with my Sound Blaster Live! Platinum 5.1 card.
Anyone got an idea here? And yes, I'm running it using Windows 95 Compatibility mode.

To some it up...no chance. I got the same prob. You could try setting the options to come from a old soundblaster in the duke nukem setup. Are you running from cd? You need 2.

Not running from CD... got it all on my Hard Drive. Been trying to use the old SB settings, but it comes out all scratchy and messed-up like. It's there, but so screwed up that I can't tell what it is, at least in the test.

When i used to run the game over a serial play, one person had the CD, the other didnt. The person without the CD didnt get sound. If that helps.

Well, I just tried actually running the game with sound, and it worked. I just had forgotten how crappy the sound in that game was to start with. Everything sounded just the way I remembered. I guess that "test" sound is the only thing that really screwed up for me.
