I will never see my neighbors the same way again...
Last night, my car was broken into. What they took, my new $250 ice skates, 2 replica Springfield 1903 rifles, and a security clearance badge.
So now.... I can't ice skate, I can't practice armed drills, and I can't get past the school gate.
Thanks a lot to whoever was so low... They really made this the "most wonderful time of the year."
I just wanna know why? Why would anyone stoop so low? I worked hard to earn money for those, and they steal it as if I'm made of, or can just crap out money.
Sorry for my rambling... Just need to let out some steam.

Inform the police, get a police report and make an insurance claim.

man, that sucks, i know how you feel. a couple of years ago, right around chanukah, i got my bike stolen. Then last year, my friend had is truck broken into right before christmas, but those bad guys were nicer, cause the left the christmas tree in the back of the truck. ugg some people really suck.
I know that when i got my watch stolen (and it was a freestyle diving watch, like 200$, a b-day gift) i was pissed. i was, well not mugged, but a guy wanted to "see" my watch, and i knew what he ment cause of the neighbor hood i was in. He and about 10 of his friends wanted to see it. I tried to fight, but there wasn't any chance i could take them all, im good, but not that good. The guy hit me, and didn't do anything, he threw me to the ground and took the watch. I was so pissed, if he had been alone, oh boy. But alas, there were ten. And i used to hope that he got jumped for it of something. But now, i hope he still has it, and i hope that it served him some good. I'm not poor, definatly not rich , but im not poor. That kid was poor, and i hope some day that he learns to not steal, but i also think that if he needed a watch that bad, he could have mine.

Yea, I feel sorry for those guys. But if a 17 year old can raise $250 dollars to buy skates and several hundred more for lessons and equipment, then there should be no excuse for them not to do the same. I know there are many people in this world who are less fortunate than we are, but really, that's still low.
If I had my way.....

I am sorry for what happened to you. I have had my car broken into many many times until I learned NEVER EVER leave anything at all visible within the car. And further I haved learned that they dont care if nothing is visible, they still hit the trunk to see whats in there.
Thats when I learned NEVER EVER to leave anything at all in the car, in the trunk, in the glove compartment, nor anywheres else that I would miss if taken. And as if magic, the car hasn't been broken into since.
Now I am not saying that by doing this the break-ins will stop, but you know what? Now I don't care, cause there is nothing to be missed. Its all only junk I needed a place to store.
Be careful what you leave there. Ask yourself "How would I feel if it was stolen?"
I think you get the message............
Sorry once more

Hey cool. I just discovered you can file a police report online. I guess I might as well give it a try and see what happens.

Sorry to hear about your dilema FlipinAsian, file that report and claim off the insurance for the skates. That will cheer up both you and the coach :D :D :D
Do wish peepz had more respect for others property though, I wish I lived in a country with more relaxed gun laws, that rock salt sounds like a great deterrent

Here's one reason i love where I live.
Anytime we have an increase in criminal activity, the local Police sends out notices to our block captians, who then forward to the neighbors.
Crime Alert!
In the past week or so there has been an increase of Burglary of Motor
Vehicles (BMV's) in our area. The Allen Police are working very diligently
to crack down on these crimes by beefing up patrols. You can assist them and
protect yourself by doing the following:
1. Parking all vehicles inside your garage if at all possible - if they
can't get to them they can't break into them!
2. If you have to park your car on the street or in the driveway TAKE ALL
VALUABLES OUT. At the very least, place all valuables out of sight in the
trunk. These cars are being broken into for the things they can see to steal
so protect yourself and your property.
Please share this with all your neighbors! If you see a crime in progress
try to write down the license plate and a description of the car they are
driving and call 911.
Have a happy but safe Holiday!

We have a neighborhood watch program... But I doubt anyone bothers to report a crime in action.
