As a fail safe, I put my B-Day on the calander, so it will show up anyway. But this B-Day is different. This B-day, I'll be getting a lot of presents!
I'll get cool stuff like, responsibility and legal representation, and financial burdens... and much more. I'm scurd.... Turning 18... whoa.
I don't think I'm ready for it yet. Too many things I haven't done. I can't be an adult yet! I haven't drained my fun batteries yet!
I've ran white water courses through the Gauly River, WV (Class IV-V rapids) during a thunderstorm (illegally, because the storm made those class 5s past the legal commercial limit).
I've gone rapelling at Hanging Rock, VA, and at the Pinnacles, CA.
Snowboard on the slopes of Donner Pass, CA, Willamette Pass, OR and Diamond Lake, OR.
Skydived in the beautiful, polluted skies of Sacramento, CA.
Survived a bank robbery in Stanford, CA.
Shook Chuck Yeager's hand and got a stupid piece of peoper with his name on it. (I was little then. Didn't realize how important the guy was.) Moffet Field, CA.
Walked on the flight deck of the USS Hornet. The ship that led the Doolittle Outfit in WWII and picked up the Apollo 11 team. Alameda, CA.
Became a close and personal friend to a guy serving in Marine One, Staff Sergeant Jason Carter.
Became part of the San Jose Preparded program (disaster relief effort in the unlikely event anything bad happens to the city. We assist fire teams and medical crews.)
Fly a helicoptor around San Jose without crashing.
Land a Cessna 172 perfectly, the first time at the flight yoke! (Thanks to hours of MSFS. lol)
Install T-1 telecommunications and networking at our private school for work study (work ethics) credit.
So many things to add on to the list... Whoa.. crossing over from teen to adult is scary...

Yea, it's probably not that bad... but I'm still a bit nervous.
It's kind of like death. I'm sure it's not as bad as it's cracked up to be, but how many people do you know can honestly say "Oh yeah, I died yesterday. It was fun. I'm gonna do it again tonight!"
Once you cross the line, there's no coming back. I like being a minor... it's fun. In almost 18 years of living, look at the things I've done (that was a condensed list.)
Yea, I guess. Take it like a man. Everyone will go through this one day. The big one eight. Boy... I sure wish I could go back in time so I could have started preparing for this day sooner...

But you've still got the titles as "DoW's First Puppy."
That's a high honor right there, that you got the chance to be a lab rat, i mean DoW Puppy. It proves you were that good! :D
Yep, just came back from the Army recruiter. Asked questions, took a short evaluation, made an appointment to take the ASVAB (which I already took per district requirements! ugh)
Since there probably isn't a whole lot for me to do in the future, I might as well enlist now and get sworn in under DEP.
