Yet, another loss to terrorism, Pat TILLMAN, ex-nfl, turned down a 3.6 million dollar contract, to fight against terrorism.he joined, for this sole purpose.
Pat was with the 2nd battalion 75th rangers, based out of fort lewis wa.and was deployed to iraq, in march, of 2003.
Pat was involved in "operation mountain storm", in southeastern afghanistan, when he was killed, 2 others were injured, and he died, while fighting beside a afghan soldier(an allie), who also met his fate at that time
you will be missed...but not forgotten!!! http://img34.photobucket.com/albums/v102/nowhereman69/12769.jpg

Actually it was the Rams the year after they won the Super Bowl and he passed on the money because he felt loyal to the Arizona team and community. But Pat Tillman did a lot more than just turned down money because he felt he had a higher calling. He did it without the desire for any fan fair. In a time when few people care about more than #1(themselves), he gave up money and fame to fight and die for the freedoms we enjoy (and at time take for granted).

His personal story is impressive. Walked onto the Arizona State football team and only became Pac-10 defensive MVP by his senior year. He graduated college with a 3.8 GPA in 3 1/2 years. Was drafted in the 7th round (and for all you non-football fan there are only 7 rounds to the draft) only to end up recording 155 tackles in one season (again for all the non-football fan, that is a lot). He was under sized and slow but he was a very good football player before he stopped playing. Before one season, he decided the regular pre-season workout wasn't enough so he competed in a 70 mile triathlon. He was the definition of overachiever.

So if you need to see what a hero is or want one person can do, when they decide nothing shale stop them, look no farther than Pat Tillman.
