Is the rank everyone responds to with respect, the major has earned the respect of the battalion through shear hard work and a responsible approach to all eventualities, they do this with a clear mind set on achieving the best they can for the battalion. A major provides a path that all tread at some point throughout our -=DoW=- career, he ensures we are better fortreading that path.
