FarCry servers

Finally figured out how to make it so we can all play with the same burned copy. Simply disable Punkbuster on both server and client sides and it plays fine. The only problem is the maps are kind of big so we need more people!!!


You do NOT have to sign up with the UBI people to play on a server!!

Yeah, the FarCry multiplayer is fun - good graphics and good playing. Body Piercer, Ultim8 and I were on it today.

Also if you happen to have the problem of it asking for a cd key when you are joining through the console, and you tried to search for servers or something like that through the regular ingame way. Do this, find the file ms.ini and delete it, then it will not ask you for the cd key anymore :)

I'm still trying to figure out how to get the maps to change the way I want them. Looking at the forums it's a bit of a sore spot. No one can seem to get a consistant setup. I'm sure it would help a great deal if I knew anything about servers in the first place but hey I got it running at least once :)

Well I coudn't find that file , but found a good looking CD-key
Now I at least have, a serverlist :lol:

I just finished playing single player, what servers do you all usally play on?

Installed the game and dowloaded and installed patch V1.1.

This was from my cloned DVD.

When I start up the game it asks me to put in the right CD.

I received a no-cd .rar file from someone but dont know where to put it. Where should I put this and what name should it have...plus how do I execute a .rar file?

Well I got the game to start and run(using the no-key patch, replaced farcry.exe with new one). Registered a user name to play online.

But when I try to log in for multiplayer it does ask me for a keycode there.

Thats the key I need.

Takes ages to join an online match... In fact... it keeps loading and doesnt let me in...just keeps loading...

sounds like it's force loading the server maps you don't already have. I used to have that same problem with Unreal Tournament. By the time I downloaded the map they were on a new one and the process kept going.

Any of you guys tried setting up a LAN server yet?

Can someone help me with this.
I got to the level called the cooler where i found valerie (nice girl :P: )
But when i go in the room i got a new objective but i can't find it.
And valerie doesn't say to much to help me out. :mrgreen:

I'd go with Rogue's suggestion since I'm still back on the carrier :)

Setting up the server is a snap, heck even I figured it out. The rest of us being able to join is the real problem.

setting it up isn't a problem I am worried about

and as far as joining well I think a 1 gig 512meg ram with a nice gigE connection should do if I can talk work into buying a legitimate copy for the server.

or do they have a server only download?

I searched for a server download and had no luck. Leave it to Ubisoft to make things difficult.

They don't have a stand alone server yet. I've seen that much in the server discussion forums. I never could get my maps to cycle the ones I wanted instead of the ones they chose. I could swear I did everything they said but it never worked right. I'd have to change the maps manually.
