Wasn't quite what I expected, but I applaud the director for trying to take on this feat. I guess I was more accustomed to the first director...
The first 15 minutes of the film had me wondering... Why is this cameraman still working? It's as shakey as heck, either that or the guy was fiddling with the projector.
The camera angles used in this film were quite interesting as well and gives a bit of perspective to things. Speaking of perspective, this movie leaves no room for filling the holes. If you have not seen the first two movies, stop now and don't bother watching this, it'll go over your head.
The running time on this movie is about 2 hours long, which leaves a lot of the book out. (Someone hire a new screenwriter, or give WB more money for this project.) They really cheated the book.
All in all, a good film. I just wish the changes were more gradual. There are some serious differences with this movie and the first two, unless they left out the fact that the Whomping Willow was relocated, Hagrid's hut was moved as well, a bridge was contructed in the valley that was not present, and a clock tower that i never seemed to notice. :P:
Enough ranting, go see it for yourself. I raised my postcount another digit.
Oh, another fine note. If you live in the part of the US (like San Jose) where Harry Potter isn't the most widely accepted thing, bring a can of pepperspray. I had to take my brothers and sisters through an angry mob of people saying they were going to hell. (Very appropriate. My 9 year old brother was more afraid of them than the dementors.)
