192.168.XXX.XXX is a private IP address. It's the IP address that your router/firewall is assigning your computer. You need to find out what you IP addres is that your ISP is giving you. You will be able to find it in your Router config under the Status portion. You may also use this URL to check you address.

Yea 192.168.1.*** is usually a router and thats not the ip that gets broadcasted out into the internet thats just so the router knows wat computer to send the information to.

Ok i think the website http://checkip.dyndns.org/ returns your local IP address. Atleast in my case it does. If you want your real IP then check ::

Both sites show the same IP :-) Do the same thing.

A local IP address is what Sledge said, a 192.168.x.x address, or for that matter a 10.x.x.x address depending on how your LOCAL network is configured, and how many PCs and/or Subnets it has

No, the first site shows your local IP if you are on a network. If you arent on a network then they will both show the same IP.

For example ..
The first site shows the Local IP assigned to my system 172.XXX.XXX.XXX
The second site shows the Real IP address assigned to my Sybnet or entire Network 61.95.XXX.XXX

OK thats wierd. So i'm the only one who's getting my Local IP on the first site.
I dont think it should matter but which Class are your IP's from.
