Noman Zen (creative labs) 60 gig // 14000 songs
and can get a really cool case for it to :)
I love mine,
got the Fm remote, etc for it also.

Cheaper then the POS ipod and 3 times the space.

this is the 20 gig model

making this the holy grail of MP3 players. No other digital audio player offers this much for your entire digital-music collection.

Hehe i got iPod and a Zen, they are both great, but one looks better than the other

But both are quite expensive, i find the control and song location on the iPod better if i am honest, but i do still love the poure BULK of the zen, If you hunt aroiund you can customise the zen extensively!

Average size for an mp3 is 3mb, simlar with the apple format,

Big Question - How much you gotta spend!

Let us know which one you will choose, so everyone who wants can find the cheapest store. (incl. all costs like shipping etc.)
Maybe the one you'll pick is cheaper in Europe than in the USA.

Wiz, I have an "old" iPod, and I find it to be a pain in the back-side. It is difficult to organize files and find them. It sounds great, and its hard drive is bigger than a desktop's, but the battery doesn't last very long and mine doesn't allow file swapping between computers (I believe they fixed this with later versions of the iPod.) I took the iPod (maybe 2-3 years ago) for the storage ability - at the time the only large capacity portable - I put music and audio books (memory hogs) for my drive times and travelling abroad when I don't have the ability to read (driving, looking at scenery, hiking, biking, etc.) The iPod also doesn't have a built in FM tuner, which is a shame, 'cause you can't listen to NPR or AirAmericaRadio

Oh, and I have a 128 mb player that holds about 10-12 tunes.

Don't know anything about the players but I know MP3's size generally matches the minutes of the song. 3 minute song = 3meg file. That might help give you an idea about how much storage you'll need.

The ONLY reason I put up with the expensive piece of equipment is because it's the only mp3 player current that integrates itself with a BMW.

I don't really have any other reason to own one, nor do i have a BMW, so I guess I have one for no reason. :|:
