Nothing.
Not sure why anyone would care. It's big business in games like EverQuest, Dark Ages of Camelot, etc,
I've seen Characters being sold for $1600+ for certain classes ie - Wizards, necros, etc. Of course this was a couple years ago, and I'm sure the prices have dropped by now.

It's not like some noob that just bought some AAO account, can mess up your rag-doll :) And what I mean by that, some noob is not going to get an entire guild wiped out on some guild raid to kill an uber-spawn that you've been camping for a couple hrs..

Will some noob with a purchased account mess up a clan's AAO reputation, naw.. Not if clan keeps up with their people.
Have not read the AAO TOS in awhile, but I'm going to assume that it's not against their TOS to sell or give away your account?

Short of it is, I don't think in the big picture of all that goes on here, are we going to even worry about that --- way to many other issues to worry about-- ie rampant cheating, hacks, exploits, crashes, and a host of other issues that screw the game up.
