no more AA for me

i have no idea what's causing it...but i can't get AA to work.

i get kicked for Pbag errors, but i can't fix it.
i've tried PBWeb, i've uninstalled, re-installed, and even got a fresh download....and i've tried pbweb over 50 times. I'm to the point where i'm just about to call it quits :cry:

anyone have any suggestions??? i'm desperate enough to try anything :cry:

I have been in your case many time, I cant reall suggest anything but wahtever you do dont give up! I know this is what everybody says, but beleive me in the end you wont regret it I swear!

Baseball you are not alone in this :cry: . I have a friend who was having the same problem he completely uninstalled AA and re-installed it and updated all PB and that fixed his problem. So this might be your best chance, try it what do you have to lose except for a little time. Hope it works. I know Wiz is having the same prob so you might also get with him and maybe the both of you can figure it out if the complete reinstall does not work

Try the manual update-- go to evenbalance and then save each file to proper directory--
pbweb is not 100% all the time-

did everything u guys suggested...still nothing.

what doesn't make sense, is that i played for 3 hours 2 days ago, and then when i woke up yesterday morning i couldn't play.

I think it's something to do with my internet security, blocking PB from authenticating....so the next step is to uninstall all the firewalls and Norton completely and run the game...see if that helps any :(

Just out of curiosity did you recently install XP SP2? I can't say for sure but that may be accounting for the problems both of you are having, what with the new security elements in SP2.

firstly do not give in m8 there are plenty of experts in IT here that can help i am sure i am also having many problems and for us lesser mortals it can be very frustrating i know i read some were on punkbuster that firewalls can have a big effect just for the purpose of a manual pb update disable ur firewalls the new xp update 2 has its own firewall in it maybe the problem i am no expert still trying to sort my own out good luck m8 :banger:

I Agree about that SP2 suggestion ....

I also should try 2 mess a bit in your firewall maybe its a port wich is closed you need ...i'm not to sure I do not have experience with this ...

I was having a problem with PB, did the pbweb, and pb manual updates, but neither helped. Then I read somewhere on the PB web site to do pb_security 1 (which is the default) or something like that in the console, after this everything started working again.

Ok I talked to baseball last night bit I didnt know he had A firewall.
I ended up unistalling AAO and the reinstalling it and then I went into the pb folder and exacuted it all went well.

I disabled my firewall in SP2 and router with no help I even did the security 1 and 0 with no luck.

In the end I think it was the uninstall and reinstall.

well....tried everything suggested.

PBweb has probably been used about 30 times, so no more suggesting that...

un-installed/re-installed...even went as far as to re-download the game 4 times...still no luck.

shut off and uninstalled Norton and all other firewall's/anti-viruses....still no luck

anyone have a phone # from PB so i can call and talk to a techy??
that's my last resort, if they cant help i'm done. I won't leave the clan...just won't be able to play with u all anymore :(

Baseball we all feel for you, its got to be basic as the latest download seems to cure all, have you tried the pb_security0 or is it pb_security 0 to turn off pb security as you join a server (probably only good for DoW), if you dont type fast then try in single player then try to join. This worked for me until the latest patch came out then all was OK.

Hey now this is great! My computer is doing the same thing to me right now as it is to baseball. I even went as far as reformat whole computer and fdisk and put everything back new and bam there it is again. I'm going to try a few more things and if they dont work then I have another trick(Reformat & install Millennium) If that dont work then Ill just give up and play pac-man LOL :mrgreen:

did you go in there and make sure all that new SP firewall crap was turn off?

Since getting MS SP2 every now & then the in built firewall (disabled) tries
to kick in with my zonealarm, making things a little bit of a pain..
But I always manage to sort it before it causes to much grief..

There is a way to turn that thing completely off- I did, I just don't remember the steps-
Got rid of the icon on the bottom and all those stoopid warnings :)

In the control panel there is a security icon to click on.

Just make sure you click on the control it your self or it will keep saying your computer my be at risk.

It was human error on my part...tried unzipping to a folder that wasn't the same as the game installed to. then i ran PBWeb twice and it seemed to work just fine.

I would like to personally thank Rogue for helping a computer illiterate person such as myself for atleast 2 1/2 hours last night... Rogue, you truly are prolly the most intelligent person i know when it comes to computers.

I would also like to thank Recon73 for going through Norton with me and helping me check some settings that it could be... Thanks a ton to both of you fellers!!!!
