I figured that I would share the success of my son's 1st year of life with you all...
When Dylan was two weeks old, he was officially diagnosed with a rare disease that affects the respiratory and gastrointestinal system called Cystic Fibrosis. No one in either family had ever had it, but we found out we were carriers of the affected genes, which gave Dylan a 25% chance that he would end up with the disease.
Unfortunately he did end up having it, but we have been blessed on so many levels by the mildness of the disease, by his intelligence, his cuteness, his awesome personality. Want to see a constantly happy baby? He's the closest thing we could hope for.
He looks most like his mom, a polish and french/canadian fair skinned, blond haired bombshell. He has my eyes, at least! ;)
Here is a picture of him during a typical minute in his day, smiling and having a great time. He turned one 12/26/04.
Does the future scare us? Sure it does, but does it affect the moment for us? Never has yet. Being a parent is awesome, I recommend you guys find yourself a nice lady to settle down with and make a baby or two, or three.
