Ok guys ive got 2 weeks holiday starting tomorow with a couple of off days when i have to work and i want to try to make my own server since evryone else is doing it i thaught id give it a go.
BUT the AA website is not too helpfull and i was wondering if any of you guys could give me a hand.

-sniper-nick, it depends on what type of software you use to run the server, also is your computer up to that challenge as far as hardware goes and also does your ip provider allow u to run server,otherwise how much bandwidth they allow? its pretty easy to get the server up and running, however if it locks or crashes alot then u should look into ip provider bandwidth and ur hardware. give me a yell and ill try to give u a hand by way of empty channel on team speak. :o

i run my own lan server i was wondering if you would be nice enough to tell me how to change it so you can use only use sniper rifles. and could you tell me how to make what ever gun selectable from the start thank you for your time :shock: :?:

Yep, DoW is a bunch of Dirty old Women when it comes to giving that out. :)

Basically find out what you upload speed is www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest and run an upstream test. every player or user take about 30-40 kb/sec of bandwidth so like i host 8 on 180kb/sec. After you find that out go to www.whatismyip.com and copy you IP addy (edit--copy or Ctrl+C) and then set up a server account at www.americasarmy.com/register.php then click on "Log in to mantain your server list"

click on "add a server" and then put you IP addy in the box (Edit--paste or Ctrl+V) and you should be able to fill out the rest.

Then go to http://kustomappz.fragout.com/HAOM/index.php and download HAOM it is what you will use to run your server. Get that installed and click on "Create a new config" and i think you will be able to do that youself.

Then i would suggest getting in contact with another -=DoW=- member that has a server and getting the spawn with sniper codes from them and the server.ini file that -=DoW=- uses.

After all that is done enter the server name in HAOM and click "Run" and you are ready to go :)

PS. If you have a firewall or router disable the following ports.....
UDP ports 1716 for the game, 1717 for the gamequery, 1718 for master server query, 8777 for standard UT query, 27900 for GameSpy
TCP 20045 for Auth server

PPS. if running a lan game just ports 1716 and 1717 have to be open i believe.

i can set the server up no probs but its just the server ini.file i need to practice with the sniper rifle and so on

Hnit: the spawn with sniper has nothing to do with the .ini file
